It's so hard to fathom you have to remind yourself of it regularly as a man, because she speaks using reason, AFTER having found the answer using emotions. It's so true of every interaction and advice, that you have to reconsider everything you get from them. Often it's so exhausting that it's not worth the time unless you need a very particular piece of advice only they have knowledge of.
You never really know a woman until they have leverage on you. Then you see the beast. Never trust anything they say when it comes to SSH otherwise nice guys would actually be pulling.
The woman who says "Women don't like ab selfies" will immediately go out with the guy who is subtle and posts a picture of him surfing with his shirt off to showcase his physique. Online dating is a limiting platform, showcase your assets.
She might not be completely wrong. While shallow women might be impressed, and those looking only for a hook-up, a woman looking for a life-mate would be leery of that kind of obvious display. However if a man provides a series of photos, including one in which he is diving into a pool, than he can display his physique in an off-hand manner that does not necessarily raise a "red flag". An even more effective photo, for such women, would be one in which he is wearing a quality tailored suit while explaining something to a group of interested people.
She might be leery. She would not be "repulsed". And lower-tier women are perfectly capable of claiming they find "a quality-tailored suit" repulsive. And note that women will even claim that having other people in photos is also repulsive.
Do not confuse "not attracted" with "not interested in pursuing a long-term relationship". All attraction is "shallow" because attraction is primal, instinctual, and immediate.
An anecdote I think supports this: I was dating ba woman and was running and working out frequently. I mentioned to her by text one day I was starting to see some nice ab definition and she wanted to see. As a joke I took a pic holding up my shirt pointing at them with the other hand, smirking and sent it.. She laughed a lot, but then she made it my display picture on her phone.

The X-treme abs thing is gay, especially coupled with chest depilation, but point taken. The 5 woman knows he will never really love her, so for her, the lie is not only self-serving, but in her own self interest and would indicate better, not worse, mental health.
What about women with dark triad traits? If dark triad men have an evolutionary advantage, is it possible that a good-looking dark triad woman (lying, scheming, and promiscuous) would be especially attractive to men, and that they give birth to sons with dark triad traits?
I always thought that the hairless chest was an attempt to score blond chicks. Blonds generally have blond dads who don't have fur covering. So if you want a blond, look more like her dad.
