“There's an adage a historian once called a law of history, true of every society across the ages. The adage is, only when it is dark enough can you see the stars.” -Kamala Harris in her concession speech, November 6, 2024

Note that she plagiarized MLK. He said it first. She never gave him credit, even though she is African American.

Apparently she plagiarized a good bit of her autobiography, including a story from MLK. Seems appropriate.

She also said "... loyalty to OUR god", not "... loyalty to God", as a Christian would say. It's very clear who "their god" is. And they are open about it.

Yes, I caught that. Their god is not the God that sacrificed his son for our sins, so that those that those believe he did, can have eternal life.

"even though she is African American."

That's the hilarious part - she's Indian-Irish pretending to black. Plagiarizing MLK without credit is commitment to the bit.

Yes. But the most important point that I am trying to make, which I assume you hopefully got, was that the handmaiden was facing the darkness, but after having a child, they saw the light.

The God-Emperor returns and hours later the German coalition is kaputt.

Sorry for the German meme, most of you will not get it. It's a commercial by the one and only Kaiser Franz Beckenbauer with his very memeable "Is it Christmas already?" with a slight Bavarian accent.

Donald Trump will personally impregnate every single woman in this country with radioactive sperm, forcing them to have mutated children.

He will hack every black person's smartphone via BlueTooth and play the n-word from their speakers at maximum volume, 24/7.

He will personally gift the entire United States to Vladimir Putin, while simultaneously starting a nuclear war with China and North Korea.

He will enslave every illegal immigrant, forcing them to do your landscaping for free instead of at half the minimum wage under the table.

Trump should be put in the Guiness book of world records in how much butthurt he caused.

"Dear students,

I am cancelling class today to grieve the presidential election results. As a queer, immigrant woman of colour, I cannot, in good conscience, go on about my daily life like everything is alright. This is a major historical event we are witnessing. I hope you take this time to take care of yourself."

Casual analysis with incomplete data sets:

On average, about 70% of eligible voters in the US are registered. Using some of the bigger elections this century, I come up with:

Year - Turnout as percentage of registered voters

2000 - 81.5%

2008 - 89.8%

2016 - 86.7%

2020 - 94.1%

2024 (coarsely estimated) - 81-84%

More autism:

The 1992 and 1980 elections had 82% registered turnouts, which surpasses every other election before 2004 for which I could find numbers.

Kamala got more raw votes so far than Obama's 2012 victory, and she's coming up on his 2008 blowout.

There were more votes cast for Trump in 2024 than there were total votes in 1964.

Since 1980, incumbents lose an average of 4.6% of total voter turnout during a re-election. Using this trend, the 2020 election had roughly 20M more votes than expected (94% turnout versus projected 82%).

The only other election for which the incumbent gained in voter turnout was 2004 (86% versus 77%).

Eliminate graduate degrees, altogether. Replace them with honors.

To be a "Master," you have to be recognized by at least X students and peers as worthy to teach. To be a "Doctor," you have to contribute meaningfully to the field in a way that is generally recognized.

There should be no need to choose between academia and industry when both are viable.

EDIT: Actually, let's take it one further. To be a Master, you need to have taught X students who will testify to your value, and who themselves have been acknowledged by their peers as excellent.

Expand full comment

It makes more sense for that recognition to come from existing faculty, and professors you were under in particular, than from peers.

Consider the fact that the man who created Linux isn't a Doctor of Computer Science, but my coworker who can't comprehend basic SQL queries is.

Or how many post-graduates in business have demonstrated any capacity for actually conducting business when they receive their titles.

Expand full comment

I agree with the principle of what you're saying, but I just think it makes more sense for the acknowledgement to have come from professors since they theoretically should have a higher level of knowledge and experience than peers, and already have teaching experience. Perhaps both should be considered.

Expand full comment

The idea is that most professors today aren't going to be Masters. Only the teachers with the greatest understanding and best outcomes should have such a title.

Example: the SDL, in detailing the SSH, merits a Doctor of Psychology or Sociology. His ability to explain and our increasingly effective application of it would be grounds for consideration as a Master.

Good start but let's be honest...we need foreign expertise in the art of female management. I hear the Taliban are really, really good at that. We don't even have to give them visas either, we'll just send a package of laptops and a starlink terminal.

From Destiny's Twitter:

"Given the Dems turned out some 15 million fewer voters, I can’t wait to see all the posts from conservatives admitting they were completely wrong about the deep state and rampant voter fraud! 🙏"

The 15 million extra votes certainly do not reveal what the mama's special boy would like for them to reveal.

Trump has a solid lock as the second and third most popular candidate ever, by popular vote, assuming Biden's were legitimate.

For reference, they have Kamala with more votes than Obama I, putting her fifth most popular ever.
