One area where Alphas regularly and reliably fail is the matter of succession. Usually, they fail by selecting a faithful Bravo to succeed them, in the hopes that their long mutual association will have resulted in the Bravo somehow picking up some of the Alpha’s vision and leadership abilities.
This never works. Bravos are not, and never will be, Alphas. The very skill set that makes them so compatible with Alphas, and so helpful to them, renders them incapable when forced to take the Alpha’s role at the top of the hierarchy. But Donald Trump, a definite Alpha, didn’t make the usual mistake in selecting his next Vice-President.
As it happens, he may actually have made a much worse one, at least in socio-sexual terms. Let’s have a look at Sen. JD Vance, Trump’s selection as a running mate for the 2024 US Presidential election.
Senator Vance has clearly done his best to improve his image and make himself look more masculine. But one principle of Sigma Game is that no matter what superficial and temporary changes a man makes to himself, his core behavioral patterns are always going to be there and will tend to resurface over time and under stress. So, is this bearded, resolute visage the true face of JD Vance? Almost certainly not.
The real JD Vance is a smart, soft-featured, Yale lawyer married to a fellow Yale lawyer who is a foreign 5, which translates to a native 3. Vance was raised without a father and amidst a considerable amount of domestic instability and turmoil that prevented him from having even a consistent identity.
At birth, Mr. Vance was named James Donald Bowman, after his father, Donald Bowman. Mr. Bowman was Mr. Vance’s mother’s second husband — Mr. Vance wrote that they split up when he was a toddler, and that Mr. Bowman gave him up for adoption when he was 6.
After the divorce, Mr. Vance’s mother married Bob Hamel, who became J.D.’s legal father, and she changed her son’s name. James Donald Bowman became James David Hamel, swapping out her ex-husband’s first name for her uncle’s name, David, to preserve the “J.D.” — which by then was Mr. Vance’s established nickname.
A few years later, Mr. Hamel and J.D.’s mother split up… His legal father, whose name was on his birth certificate, was a “total stranger.”
None of this is Sen. Vance’s fault, of course. Rest assured that none of this is meant to be critical of Vance or of Trump’s decision, it’s nothing more than the application of SSH principles to the situation. As the readers here know, we are in the reality business here at Sigma Game, the facts are what they are, and the more ruthless our emotional detachment, the more predictive the application of the model.
Furthermore, Vance was previously a staunch critic and opponent of President Trump.
"I'm a Never Trump guy. “I never liked him.”
"Mr. Trump is unfit for our nation's highest office."
“I can't stomach Trump. I think that he's noxious and is leading the white working class to a very dark place.”
How does one go from being such a vehement critic to volunteering to serve as the man’s right-hand man? That’s deeply suspicious, particularly when there are a lot of Gamma flags surrounding the man. Even his Marine Corps service points to potential problems based on the nature of his service.
Joining in 2003, Vance served four years in the Marine Corps, including a tour in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. His primary role was as a public affairs specialist, a role that honed his communication skills, a talent readily apparent in his later writing and public speaking.
Neither a leader of men nor a fighter. And unfortunately, the man’s obvious ambition combined with his above-average intelligence ineluctably points us toward the ultimate conclusion that JD Vance is a Gamma male.
Now, this doesn’t mean that Vance is definitely a Gamma. We simply don’t have sufficient direct information about him. Due to his disadvantaged beginnings, he could simply be a low Delta who has genuinely changed his perspective as he matured and found success, who has been hardened by the experience of overcoming the challenges he faced. However, the rapidity and extremity of those successes tends to point to them as being largely manufactured, not overcome.
Only time will tell one way or another, but in the meantime, it’s not unreasonable to expect the sort of dishonesty, grandiosity, and ultimately betrayal from him that would confirm this initial conclusion.
Vox, I'm curious if there is a convergence of Mr. Vance's preliminary categorization after watching him in the debate.
The school of fish that is the media has gone with "weird" as their insult of choice against Vance. I fear this is pretty effective and likely confirms his gamma persona, which they sense.
