I'm a bit divided on Vance. Could be he played a weaker opponent to lure Zelensky in. Could be he was actually a bit weak in that situation. However it went, my immediate reaction was to think to myself "Keep an eye on this Vance guy. He seems to be learning pretty fast." A few more situations like this and he could turn Alpha.

I have a thoery. The various classifications for males ignores or is ignorant of something you touched on. That any male can step into the so called breach and change, become alpha or whatever is necessary to fulfill the obligations and needs of the situation. Maybe not every male, but a larger percentage than one might think.

Take the top cabinet members of the Trump Administration and look at their ages, absolute and relative SSH ranking.

Hegseth is an absolute alpha, situational bravo. He just dragged his nuts across Hillary's face on X just now.

Some people, e.g. a guy named Brian Berletic, are floating around the idea that the whole thing was staged, but then it would still be an example how playwrights can make good use of SSH literacy.

Expand full comment

Berletic is a Gamma.

One tell is that he doesn't allow comments on his X posts. Another is that he lives in Thailand.

He's wedded to a narrative that the United States is an empire and the Trump administration is a continuation of the previous globalist regimes, and that its opposition to the globalists is somehow staged or phony. In Berletic's mind, the purpose of the Trump admin is to make the Empire more efficient rather than dismantle it, and pivot to China and start a war there instead.

Berletic had been complaining about NED and all the regime-change operations funded by USAID for years... but now that Trump has dismantled them, all that apparently doesn't matter to him.

There's another Gamma named Devon Stack who complained for the past four years that Trump never pardoned the J6ers, and then now that he has, Stack is now saying it somehow hurts our cause.

You can never please these types. Nothing Trump does will ever be good enough for them. It's like these narratives, for Gammas, are their religion.

For an interesting flipside, there's a blogger on Substack who thinks Zelensky must be a white hat because he has done such a horrible job at the White House and otherwise. He can't imagine there are people who are so messed up and Gamma that they'd do this kind of thing on purpose without being a secret white hat.

By the way, living in Thailand and being married to a narrative sounds a little weird to me, but if that's what he's into, fine.

Of course the US is an empire. What else would they do with 800 military bases in 70 countries. The rest is up for discussion. I personally do not like the types who keep telling me everything is "A PYSOP!!!". What I do like is funny stories, and the one about Z you relate is definitely on the funnier side.

We’ve been the military muscle for the Liberal Empire, which includes the EU, the UK, and so forth. We were Ukraine before Ukraine, in other words, tasked with doing the bulk of the Liberal Empire’s fighting.

It’ll be interesting to see if Trump dismantles our presence overseas. Hopefully the Europeans and their unhinged behavior will give him the perfect excuse to pull out of Europe and NATO to the cheers of most Americans.

I’d like to see Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan to make similarly obvious fools out of themselves, so we could pull out of East Asia too. Maybe that day will come soon.

Japan will not make that mistake, as they didn't drink the NATO Kool-aid. If America does pull out, I would expect it to be mutual.

South Korea is a live bet.

Starmer continues Zelensky's Gamma.

He has declared that British soldiers will be on the ground and fighters in the air. And America must join in, it is all done for peace.

I have doubts Alpha will allow the megalomaniac make his decisions. Especially when the tightly controlled British media is blasting Trump in derangement while Starmer dictates what Trump is going to do.

And so World War Clown continues.

It won't work, because it's the same passive aggressive bullshit Macron tried last week; it resulted in him getting humiliated at the door of the White House. As our host notes, Gammas think they're a lot more clever than they are.

This also aptly demonstrates why women can never be in charge of shit. A female Alpha? Yeah, even the women can't stand her. There's a reason its always men who lead anything of consequence.

Academic Agent stated that perhaps team Trump was trying to get Zelensky agitated on purpose since the deal was bad or other reason.

Using the SSH, there may be something towards this direction going on. After all, we know major Clowns with Trump Derangement sit behind Zelensky. To strike a deal with Trump, the Clowns would have to demonstrate willingness to be neutral towards Trump. The Alpha would not take a deal where the Clowns get what they want and belittle Trump all day in their Circuses afterwards.

So, then Trump has to test that the leader they sent can at least pretend to be at peace with president Trump and has set aside the old ways. Zelensky failed.

I hope Trump realizes that the Clowns will forever hate and mock him, and deal with the situation accordingly.

Haven't seen the full 50 minute discussion, but I noticed Trump saying in the last 10 minute clip that it was good for this to be publicized so Americans would know. I bet the days of behind-the-scenes negotiations was pretty much this.

Hard to say it was premeditated, but Alphas get there by knowing how to setup opportunities and being ready to follow through.

Give an opportunity for Gamma to "take it public", and be ready to exploit predictable Gamma ego failure. Trump held the cards, and it was unwise for Zelensky to publicly disrespect the Alpha AND his group.

@VD might get a kick out of this.

GROK3: Classifying the 14 U.S. presidents who were previously vice presidents using Vox Day’s socio-sexual hierarchy (SSH) is an interesting exercise.

Since the SSH relies on perceived social behavior, status, and interactions—particularly as observed by others—I’ll base this on historical accounts of their personalities, leadership styles, and how they navigated power dynamics. This is speculative, as we’re applying a modern framework to historical figures with incomplete personal data, but I’ll align it with Vox Day’s definitions as closely as possible. Here we go:

John Adams (VP: 1789–1797, Pres: 1797–1801)

Classification: Delta

Reasoning: Adams was competent and principled but lacked the charisma or dominance of an Alpha. He was a workhorse under Washington, not a natural leader who commanded loyalty. His prickly, intellectual nature and struggles with popularity (losing re-election) suggest he wasn’t socially dominant. Delta fits as the “average man” who gets the job done without flair.

Thomas Jefferson (VP: 1797–1801, Pres: 1801–1809)

Classification: Sigma

Reasoning: Jefferson was brilliant and influential but operated outside traditional social hierarchies. He avoided confrontation, preferred writing over public speaking, and had an independent streak (e.g., authoring the Declaration). His success with women (Sally Hemings aside) and political victories suggest high status, but his introversion and disdain for pomp lean Sigma over Alpha.

Martin Van Buren (VP: 1833–1837, Pres: 1837–1841)

Classification: Beta

Reasoning: Van Buren was a skilled politician and loyal to Andrew Jackson, thriving as a behind-the-scenes operator. He lacked the commanding presence of an Alpha and struggled as president during economic turmoil, losing re-election. His reliability and social adeptness without dominance scream Beta.

John Tyler (VP: 1841, Pres: 1841–1845)

Classification: Delta

Reasoning: Tyler ascended by chance after Harrison’s death and lacked a strong personal mandate. He was stubborn but not charismatic, and his presidency was marked by party rejection (Whigs expelled him). He’s a functional everyman—Delta—without the traits of higher ranks.

Millard Fillmore (VP: 1849–1850, Pres: 1850–1853)

Classification: Delta

Reasoning: Fillmore was unremarkable, stepping in after Taylor’s death. He lacked vision or social dominance, presiding over a divisive era with little personal impact. Another competent but forgettable Delta.

Andrew Johnson (VP: 1865, Pres: 1865–1869)

Classification: Gamma

Reasoning: Johnson was stubborn, combative, and socially awkward—a tailor who rose through grit, not charm. His clashes with Congress, impeachment, and inability to lead effectively post-Lincoln suggest Gamma traits: resentful, intellectual in his own mind, but out of his depth socially.

Chester A. Arthur (VP: 1881, Pres: 1881–1885)

Classification: Beta

Reasoning: Arthur was a political insider who surprised many by governing well after Garfield’s death. He wasn’t a natural leader (Alpha) but was polished and loyal to the system, fitting Beta as a capable second-tier figure who rose to the occasion.

Theodore Roosevelt (VP: 1901, Pres: 1901–1909)

Classification: Alpha

Reasoning: TR is the textbook Alpha—bold, charismatic, dominant, and beloved. He turned the presidency into a bully pulpit, led with confidence, and thrived socially and politically. His larger-than-life persona fits Vox Day’s Alpha perfectly.

Calvin Coolidge (VP: 1921–1923, Pres: 1923–1929)

Classification: Delta

Reasoning: “Silent Cal” was reserved and uncharismatic, ascending after Harding’s death. He governed competently with a laissez-faire approach but lacked the dominance or social flair of higher ranks. Delta suits his quiet, average-man vibe.

Harry S. Truman (VP: 1945, Pres: 1945–1953)

Classification: Beta

Reasoning: Truman was a loyal VP who stepped up after FDR’s death, showing grit and decisiveness (e.g., atomic bomb). He wasn’t a natural Alpha—lacking FDR’s charisma—but his reliability and ability to lead under pressure make him a strong Beta.

Richard Nixon (VP: 1953–1961, Pres: 1969–1974)

Classification: Gamma

Reasoning: Nixon was paranoid, socially awkward, and resented by elites despite his intelligence and political skill. His “Checkers” speech and Watergate obsession reflect Gamma traits—overthinking, insecure, and unable to win broad social approval.

Gerald Ford (VP: 1973–1974, Pres: 1974–1977)

Classification: Delta

Reasoning: Ford was a steady, unflashy figure who took over after Nixon’s mess. He was likable but lacked the vision or dominance to reshape his era. Delta fits as the dependable everyman.

George H.W. Bush (VP: 1981–1989, Pres: 1989–1993)

Classification: Beta

Reasoning: Bush was a loyal VP to Reagan, competent and diplomatic, but not a commanding Alpha. His presidency was solid but overshadowed by Reagan’s legacy, and he struggled to connect emotionally with voters. Beta suits his supportive, capable role.

Joe Biden (VP: 2009–2017, Pres: 2021–present as of March 2, 2025)

Classification: Delta

Reasoning: Biden’s long career shows persistence, not brilliance. He’s folksy and relatable but lacks the charisma or dominance of an Alpha or the independence of a Sigma. His VP loyalty and average-guy persona peg him as a Delta.

Summary by SSH Rank:

Alpha: Theodore Roosevelt

Beta: Martin Van Buren, Chester A. Arthur, Harry S. Truman, George H.W. Bush

Gamma: Andrew Johnson, Richard Nixon

Delta: John Adams, John Tyler, Millard Fillmore, Calvin Coolidge, Gerald Ford, Joe Biden

Sigma: Thomas Jefferson

Omega: None—presidents, even the weakest, don’t typically hit this low socially.

This leans on Vox Day’s emphasis on observable behavior over self-perception. Alphas dominate naturally, Betas support capably, Gammas flail socially, Deltas plug along, and Sigmas carve their own path. Let me know if you’d like a deeper dive into any of these!

So heavy mother influence. Therefore Deltas produce more Deltas. Self feeding loop then?

What happens with the exceptions? How do higher status emerge? Is that less of what happens and how the male takes it in? Just spitballin.

Delta with some Gamma characteristics and (so far) strong situational Bravo potential seems right for Vance. FWIW, I identify with him quite a lot. And the way he lets himself get dragged into the Gamma’s frame is something I have contended with a lot.

The directness of Vance’s offence marks him out as a Delta vs Zelensky’s bitchiness and attempts at emotional blackmail. Delta’s dream of the opportunity to “tell it like it is” and Vance is clearly emboldened in his role as Bravo to an Alpha of Trump’s calibre.

The first reading in mass today was on point:

“Your talk shows your faults; it is like a sieve that separates out the rubbish. The way you think shows your character just as surely as a kiln shows any flaws in the pottery being fired. You can tell how well a tree has been cared for by the fruit it bears, and you can tell a person's feelings by the way he expresses himself. Never praise anyone before you hear him talk; that is the real test.” - Sirach 27 4-7
