Interesting. I'm currently trying my best to do a feminine version of this, working to imitate my most unflappable and ladylike aunt. What prompted me was trying to deal with the medical industrial complex on behalf of a very sick relative. MIC doesn't listen no matter what one does, but one might as well deal with it as a lady than otherwise.

Being a lady is stoicism while female.

Being cool and unflappable is a very valuable quality in a wife and a mother. Children and husbands are much happier if they know she won't fly off the handle at small provocation.

While being classy isn't an innate virtue, it's interesting how many vices one avoids by being the class act of a gentleman or a lady. Like stoicism it certainly reigns in the emotions, as outbursts are under the rules, unseemly.
