You certainly made sure to end the post with a perfect flourish, having been written by a married man. That was deft, sir!

Poor lass...

Seed oils! When will amerifats learn about seed oils! Mind you - it looks like she has been injecting them in her face; there's no excuse for that level of stupidity...

Reading this post got me thinking about two gorgeous women. On the one hand, it's Jennifer Connelly. In my opinion, one of the most beautiful actress. On the other hand, there's Monica Bellucci who is considered as one of the most beautiful women alive for many years. Both, were at the same level of fame, but Jennifer Connelly does look more approachable. Monica is a woman reserved for elite men, and same as the two heathers, Bellucci looks much better in her fifties than Connelly does at her fifties. I think that Jennifer is an 8, and Monica is a full 10.

Objective Standards for Beauty != My Preferences in Women's Appearance or Will She Make a Good Mate

Thomas had a nose job and possibly other work. This makes her a lower quality mate in disguise, which some guys can see through, even if just instinctually. Also, even with the "work" her ugly schnoz is showing up in some of the pics you posted. Not that she's ugly of course, but natural beauty has an added appeal. Her body also has some skinniness aspects that are unattractive compared to Locklear, who does not have ligaments sticking out around the joints, a feature which suggests excessive dieting. You could probably reframe the whole post with an argument that Thomas was an artificial copy of the the real thing, and that is why she ultimately fell short, even if a computer might rate her higher based on a quantitative analysis.

These points are silly pickiness, and I'm not suggesting that Thomas is sub-par or something like that. I think there's a matter of taste going on here. Also, the alpha-male trophy wife thing is to some extent a weakness of the alpha personality, because he's more interested in superficial features like plastic surgery enhancements.

Every guy hopefully learns that the difference between a 10 and a 7 becomes totally irrelevant after spending a little time together. That 10 can quickly drop to a zero when personality kicks in :) This goes back to the idea that the perceived quality of a mate is tied to attainability. This must be true to some extent, but there's a point where this whole analysis becomes ridiculously superficial. After a little dating I think most of us learned that we need to screen for personality much more than looks to have a happy and successful relationship.

Our esteemed host is correct, he married a 10. He presented the photographic evidence and it has clearly proven the assertion. They’re a nice looking couple. However, based on this photo, I’d say they’re a rather serious-minded duo.

Madame Day is lovely and that quite naturally, but she doesn't look like a lady to be messed with by anybody, including Mr. Day.

Vox, Heather Locklear is an alcoholic with serious drug abuse problems. She looks terrible because she has both liver problems and substance abuse disorders. I don't know if that is bone structure related.

The reason people were less attracted to Heather Thomas is that she had less intelligence and character in her face, which translates to lower survivability. In her acting and presentation she was quite vapid, whereas Locklear looked vivacious and full of energy. This too is a sign of biological fitness and points to higher survivability in her offspring. That's what caused the powerful schwing reflex in men sexually. Heather Thomas was dead in the eyes and seemed like many such girls in Hollywood - interchangeable, bland and spiritually empty. Locklear was far more engaging in her prime. Symmetry is usually not a big draw with women if they don't have character in their face. In terms of evopsych (we'll call it "adaptation") men are keyed to look for women who make good mothers to children - part of that is a lively personality that can raise them happy and curious.

If these conditions holds;

1. Lower-status men understandably find approachability to be more attractive to them than actual physical attractiveness, which is why the lower on the SSH one goes, the more generous the female ratings tend to become.

2. 20% of men mate with 80% of women while 80% of men compete for 20% of women attention.

Then;

This explains why the cute and not beautiful women are remembered in history by the 80% of men because they are approachable and not unattainable as 8's and 10's.

I recall reading an article where Heather Locklear said Tommy Lee (I think) had just called her up telling her how hot she looked on tv. It became apparent to her that Tommy was drunk/high and had confused her with Heather Thomas that he must have seen on a just-aired episode of The Fall Guy. I’m not sure if this generated tingles for Heather Locklear or not, but is funny nonetheless. I would also note that a certain level of hotness (the Thomas version) makes women not like you. Hence Sarah Palin vice Kristi Noem’s potential for national political success.

Quite the banger. I suspect even the proposed properties of the name Heather will age better than for example Ricardo's wild theories.

One must still ask whether buried deep inside the article, there is a plot to convince certain someone to accept all the time spent on solving the most nuanced intricacies of the SSH.

I'm afraid the last paragraph about Spacebunny just opened the door for every commentor with an average wife to claim he snagged a 10. Not saying Spacebunny is average, mind - she's way better than average.

They can claim whatever they want. She's been a quasi-public figure for decades. The fact that when her picture first came out, the gammas were claiming that she didn't exist and I'd posted pictures of a random model I didn't even know should speak for itself.

I think I phrased it badly. I didn't mean she's not beautiful. She's a very good looking lady. I meant the gammas and some deltas will want to elbow their way into being at the same level by claiming their own women are top tier. The "my friends all say I lucked out marrying a ten, lol" trope.

Wasn't dissing your wife. I apologise if it sounded that way

NP. Didn't take it that way. And while I'm sure you're right about the instinctive reaction, I'm very skeptical that even the most delusional Gamma would be dumb enough to roll the dice on public comparison similar to the Two Heathers post.

>Watching Mogambo, out of curiosity, to find out if Grace Kelly is really a 10

>Ava Gardner comes on screen first

>Gorgeous. Maybe she's the real 10 here. I've always preferred brunettes anyway

>Ava wears ultra-feminine outfits. Lovely slender figure, wonderful face. Eyebrows look a little too fake.

>First shot of Grace Kelly. From a distance, wearing one of those ridiculous women's suit type outfits.

>Oh.

>Grace Kelly slaps Clark Gable

>Ava comes back on screen. Is she even pretty anymore?

Age gap is a powerful decider when two 10s are on the screen. Kelly was 21, Gardner was 30 with some years of drinking. The latter from The Killers or One Touch of Venus would've given Kelly a run for her money.

Maybe, but I doubt it. The straightness of Grace's profile and the refinement of her nose and mouth were both so much better than Ava's, that I doubt a few years of age difference would really change anything

Fair enough. Compared at similar ages, I slightly prefer Ava's features.
