A Reader's Critique
In which the Sigma addresses a critique of the SSH
A reader produced his own set of criticisms of the SSH which he suggested might be more valid than the critiques produced by the three major AI systems.
This system only deals with banal matters of military, political and economic organizations. It shows no scope for the intellectual, cultural or spiritual aspects of Man. Where are the shamans, myth makers, poets , prophets, artists, writers and culture-creators?
It is literally bestial rather than celestial. It is well known, although I don’t know that Mr. Day has ever addressed this, that something similar is found amongst animals. Wolf packs for instance have a leader, who is the only one who mates. They also have enforcers who intimidate the ordinary delta wolves into adopting cringing submissive postures around the leader. We’ve all heard of the ‘sigma’ lone wolves. I don’t know whether they have disputatious ‘gammas’. Probably the enforcers would kill them. Apes seem to have a similar situation. Something like the SSH observably exists among at least the higher animals. On the other hand, mystics have not reported it in the Hierarchy of Heaven. The fact that priesthoods regard themselves as enforcers for divinity may reveal their lack of contact with the same, and the success of their very earthly ambitions.
It does not explain how and why the natural leaders allowed themselves to be displaced by lefties and their pet degenerates, rather than killing them. This certainly does not happen among animals.
It’s supposed to alert people to what to expect from other men, but does it tell us anything new or more extensive? Bossy types have always been domineering, with entourages of sneaks and office-seekers. The loquacious always insist on filling silence with their verbiage.
It’s not presented neutrally. Mr. Day’s personal preference for ‘alpha’ types and his aversion to ‘gammas’ is all too clear. It would be easy to characterise them otherwise.
Perhaps it may become something ‘scientific’ or of general utility, but so far it seems more like a set of memes used within a particular sub-culture.
This criticism is entirely false. The SSH encompasses all organizations, whether they are military organizations or literary organizations of poets. All of the intellectual, cultural or spiritual aspects of Man are displayed in the actual behavior of men. One need only read the minutes of the meetings of any literary or religious organization to understand that not only does the SSH apply to all shamans, myth makers, poets, prophets, artists, writers and culture-creators, but also recognize that the great majority of them are Gamma males.
This isn’t even a criticism. The SSH is based on observable patterns of human behavior. It stands to reason that various other animals display similar patterns of behavior based on dominance and sexual attraction. The bestial-celestial divide has absolutely nothing to do with whether something is true or not and the attempt to apply it to the SSH is a category error.
To the contrary, the SSH specifically predicts that Gammas will resent and rebel against Alpha authorities. The SSH most certainly never asserts that these rebellions will never be successful. However, modern society does display most, if not all, of the dysfunctionality expected of any society mostly run by non-Alphas.
The SSH doesn’t tell anyone anything that is new or extensive. It is neither a discovery nor an invention, it is merely a taxonomy, an articulation of things that already exist, things that have existed for millennia. But the fact that we now have words to describe actual things, even actual things that we already know on some level, is obviously and observably useful to most people, particularly the vast majority of people who require some level of definitional context in order to be able to utilize a concept.
The neutrality of the presentation is irrelevant. Literally everyone has an aversion to Gammas, including Gammas themselves. Indeed, the only thing that would call into question the legitimacy of the SSH in this regard is if I somehow did not possess the same appreciation for Alphas and aversion to Gammas that everyone else does.
The fact that there are more than 50 billion references to the Sigma term alone proves that the SSH is not limited to any particular sub-culture. Furthermore, a “meme” is nothing more than an idea, so describing it as a “set of ideas” not only is not a criticism, it is a simple tautology.

That Wall of Text sure does have a lot of climbing roses and English ivy on it. How very lofty and ivory-tower-ish it is.
Gammas seem to take one of two paths when confronting the SSH: The "I'm *not* a gamma, I'm a special delta-sigma-whatever hybrid" or "the model is flawed". The "face reality and figure out how to be the best version of myself" option is just too hard for most of them.
I commend all of you Gammas who have embraced the Graduating Gamma path. It's a tough road but a worthwhile one..
"banal matters of military, political and economic organizations". Banal? This is probably the most gamma phrase I've read in a long time.
