That description from Tolstoy is so accurate, it is almost prophetic.

As a Delta. Its just as important to choose what kind of Alpha we associate with. Perch on the branches of the right tree.

Very good points all around.

I've seen what my Alpha friends, and Sigma buddy can get up / get away with, and I know I'm "not that guy". I've partaken in various shenanigans by virtue of being part of the group .. but although I made the invite list, I couldn't set such events up myself.

And yes, some of the Alphas got "bit" by their habits. The Sigma sure did. As I started rejecting some of their preferred activities, some of them sidelined me, or even cut contact.

Man's gotta understand where he stands, choose his lane, and stick with it. Life is easier when you do.

More reason to disregard social standing and status seeking, as far as I'm personally concerned. I've been there before; whether long or short a time, even the finest wine eventually sours. Better to seek virtue and not status - virtue is a much longer-lasting vintage.

As Stefan Molyneux says, can’t go wrong pursuing love, virtue, and fertility.

> the lower-status men find themselves punished all the harsher for their lack of social status.

This is truly the biggest drawback of being low on the SSH; not only does one have to follow different (and often unwritten) rules, but one also faces a different punishment matrix, either explicit or implicit. The Gamma is bright enough to notice the inequity, which fosters further resentment

Being low status man means being much more exposed. Being the first to die and suffer the most. To be the pawns that takes the blows.

To be loyal to the right Master is much more a matter of life and death.

Hollywood does seem to be reasonably good at physiognomy.

I watched the Russian version of War and Peace while reading the novel. I highly recommend it.

In fact, there are likely some parts of the movie that won't make sense unless you've read the inner monologues from the book since they skip through so much.

In terms of casting, the Russian version makes Pierre starting at around 40s (rather than early 20s in the book), who was also the director. He certainly played Pierre extremely well as a lower status male despite the hordes of money he has.

Indeed, you will be a bit horrified/disgusted by the depth/accuracy of the inner monologues. We would be just as horrified by most people around us should we read their inner monologues as well.

Which is why it is so important as a young delta to have a set framework or morals. Yes, it may cause some temporary pain, but the punishment of debauchery will fall more on the lower status men than the higher.

In short, and elite will have the resources to get away with it longer than a mid or low status man.

Personally at this point of my life, the rewards of what used to be called moral living, that of a stable home and work, are more than what I would get from dissolution and debauchery. Seeing several former colleagues who destroyed their life doing so is s good example.

Be content. Don't covet.

Those who has higher status and higher status behavioural pattern are given more. Hence more will be demanded of them by God.

The overwhelming majority of people I spent time with in college took one of the routes of depravity. The happiest of them has a child with his long-time girlfriend, and even he's made miserable by the depravities in which he indulges.

God is good, and His gifts are good.

I was just thinking about this the other day. Having a nice house and family, no debt and a full fridge. The biggest party in the world is not as good as BBQ with the lads, that’s where life is at.

Luxury is, of course, fake and gay.

Very cosompolitan. In fact.
