Countless were the occasions when, through negligence or happenstance, people would end up getting bowled over or dumped from a lift chair just after takeoff. The third world lifties wouldn't bat an eye, couldn't have cared less, zero concern whatsoever.
That's just a small example. But the reality is that caring about others or their safety is so far from a "universal human trait" that it may as well be labeled an endangered trait.
