The Boys of Sigma
Hollywood's latest reinterpretation of the Sigma Male
It never ceases to be amusing when Hollywood’s attempt to invert reality nevertheless underlines the horrors of what they believe to be good, while even their best attempts to make things look lame and secretly gay only demonstrate the way in which everything about their clown world is fake and gay.
But what this sort of conceptual perversion does is to show how the concept being targeted has an intrinsic truth to it that frightens them; nothing is more relentlessly targeted and mocked by the Hellmouth than Christianity and Jesus Christ. They actively hate everything that is Good, that is Beautiful, and that is true.
The fact that the idea of the Sigma Male is being consistently targeted by the Hellmouth is no more an accident than the fact that the original Sigma is banned from all the major social media platforms. And it’s a reminder that if you haven’t read the original source of the complete socio-sexual hierarchy, that being Sigma Game, you would do well to do so.
It will be interesting when they start trying to make heroes out of the Gammas, by which I mean explicit heroes, since they’ve already been doing that implicitly for decades. It’s not an accident that the one true hero of The Boys is an obvious Gamma stand-in (whose behavior on the show is actually very Delta) who is gifted the prettiest blonde on the show, whose prettiness ironically erodes in sync with her public Christian faith, which of course is revealed to be false and hypocritical over the course of the show.
The inversion of reality shown here is particularly glaring when the fictional female behavior is juxtaposed with the real-world behavior of Diana Russini; who couldn’t resist the lure of the famous alpha even though a) she is no Starlight 9, b) she was married, and c) her husband is far from a loser.
It’s important to understand, identify, and call out these inversions, because they reveal to us exactly how the twisted Gamma minds of the Hellmouth think, how they perceive the Good, the Beautiful, and the True, and how they project their own evil thoughts, inclinations, and behaviors onto others.
Athos’s analysis of the clip from the show is pertinent here:
The first thing that jumps out is that this isn’t actually an attack on the Sigma concept. It’s an attack on the manosphere podcast grifter who uses Sigma language as marketing copy. And here’s where it gets interesting: the SSH itself would classify this character the same way the show’s writers are portraying him. The man described in this transcript is not a Sigma. He is a Gamma performing what he imagines a Sigma to be.
Every detail confirms it. The real Sigma doesn’t announce that he’s a lone wolf; he simply operates outside the hierarchy without commentary. He doesn’t tell you women desperately want him; he either doesn’t notice or doesn’t care. He doesn’t launch a podcast to “speak his truth” to an audience of bros, because the Sigma’s defining characteristic is indifference to social validation, not the relentless pursuit of it through a different channel. The character described here craves exactly the same attention and status that any hierarchy-climbing individual craves — he’s just rebranded the craving in lone-wolf packaging. The “wolf cub to my lone wolf” line is particularly telling: a real Sigma doesn’t recruit disciples, because disciples are a hierarchy, and the Sigma doesn’t want one.
So the irony is that the show’s writers think they’re mocking the Sigma Male, but what they’ve actually built is a perfectly accurate portrait of a Gamma who has adopted Sigma aesthetics as his latest cope. The grifter podcast bro who dry-scoops protein powder at 4 AM and tells you the woke mind virus is real isn’t operating outside the hierarchy. He’s desperately trying to build an alternative hierarchy with himself at the top, which is the most Gamma aspiration imaginable. The SSH would look at this character and say: yes, that man is a fraud. We agree. The show’s writers have accidentally validated the taxonomy by demonstrating that they can distinguish the real pattern from the fake one, even though they don’t realize that’s what they’ve done.
The deeper failure is that the writers clearly believe the Sigma concept is the podcast grifter — that the entirety of the idea reduces to Andrew Tate knockoffs selling supplements. They can’t distinguish between the concept and its most degraded commercial imitation, which means they’ve never engaged with the actual framework. They saw the word “sigma” on TikTok, associated it with the most visible and most ridiculous people using it, and wrote their parody from that. It’s the equivalent of watching a televangelist and concluding that you’ve refuted Christianity. You haven’t refuted anything. You’ve identified a grifter, which the people whose concept you think you’re attacking identified long before you did.

Everything they dislike always has to be a caricature because the real thing frightens them.
High status people always observe and act, they are never their own herald of their grandeur. Even women I know who are married to high status men long term similarly see something and apply it, instead of talking about it.
Low status people need these high status people. I get stuck between observing and doing, when there’s a high status person in any situation I can follow that person. One of my family members would wash the dishes very loud, nobody ever said or did anything even though nobody liked it. That ended the second time my aunt was at a family supper, even before they were married or anything. She just quietly and naturally beat the person to the sink and earned herself the nickname “the dishes fairy.” None of us ever thought of doing that.
My husband’s side has two alphas and when neither of them will be there, you’re in for a lot of boomer girlbossing. Before I knew about the ssh I was amazed how one them just showing up was the single difference in how a party went. They just automatically and naturally know what to do and the other guys can follow. It’s so natural nobody even picks up on how they do it.
