Sigma Books
The coming campaign for HYPERGAMOUSE and SIGMA GAME
In the event that you’re unfamiliar with my fiction writing, the Based Book Sale offers a very inexpensive way to check it out, as all three of my epic fantasy novels are on sale at Amazon for $0.99 apiece, which is why two of them are presently in the top 10 in their category on the Kindle store. As you can see from the number of reviews and the 4.6 to 4.9 averages, they’re fairly well-regarded by people who like Tolkien, Martin, and other authors of epic fantasy sagas.
Here are three sample reviews, one for each book.
A THRONE OF BONES: This book is enthralling, and draws you in from the beginning. Vox created a vast and vivid realm. The book is very digestible and easy to pick up at any point in the story as it is broken down into short chapters, each of which is named after a character. Being a work of fantasy, it is also surprisingly fascinating from a historical perspective. Much of the set and setting is patterned after ancient Roman society, of which the author is very well researched. It’s been years since I’ve read a book of fiction, much less fantasy, but this book reawakens the joy I got from reading Tolkien in my youth. Much of the book’s strength derives from the perspective it illustrates on society and civilizational structure, as well as a theological /philosophical framework which is essentially forbidden and seen as taboo to most contemporary fiction/fantasy authors.
A SEA OF SKULLS: I don’t typically read sci fi / fantasy but was looking for something different. A Throne of Bones came highly recommended. I read it and wanted to read more. I purchased a digital copy of A Sea of Skulls. These books are fantastic! The world building and different cultures are believable. The characters, even the evil ones, have a depth that is missing in so many books, especially in books with this many characters. The combination of societies at different historical times was fascinating: Republican Rome, Medieval Europe, and the Viking Age. And these were just the human societies! Magic is in the story, but it is a tool that is wielded with a purpose. The magic does not become a crutch where all conflicts are solved simply by who has the better or more clever magician. In fact, there are ways to suppress and counteract the magicians, which adds a new dimension. In all it is a wonderful, engaging, and engrossing story.
All in all, they amount to 770,493 words, which, believe it or not, exceeds the 706,584 words of The Hobbit + The Lord of the Rings + The Silmarillion by nearly 10 percent. As one reader here previously commented, he never truly understood the concept of the Sigma’s self-motivated sense of mission until he realized that despite the fact it makes absolutely zero economic or career sense for me to spend the time required to write these massive novels, I’ve already embarked upon writing the final novel in the series, which will bring the final word count to at least 1,067,993 words.
And if people don’t appreciate them today, well, perhaps the readers of tomorrow will. They do look pretty good in leather, though.
In other book news, the HYPERGAMOUSE and SIGMA GAME crowdfund will begin later this month. Both books should be complete and ready to ship out to all the backers by the time the 60-day campaign is finished, with the exception of the deluxe leatherbound editions. If you’re a regular reader here, I hope you’ll consider picking up a copy of one, the other, or perhaps even both.
If you intend to back the campaign or want to follow its status, you can check out the campaign teaser page here.

Vox and Lacey's work, in a single Kickstarter?
Count me in!
Loved summa elvetica, and am almost finished with a throne of bones. Only problem is that I’m neglecting work while being immersed in Selenoth.
