Should you really use women for the wingman role?

Salix Dreaming's avatar

Absolutely. It signals positive preselection. Just don't let them choose for you.

I recall, in my youth, being told a lot of times, by a lot of different people, to be friends with a girl first before proceeding to romance. They might as well have told me to castrate myself.

Friend zone works both ways.

Our gracious and esteemed host summed it up best, this...this is why women can't be nice.

Who writes the scripts?

Who internalizes them?

There may well be a genetic component. The squid even have them-"sneaky fucker" strategy or some such.

As for the distaff culpability-orbiters are a resource; instinctive behavior, perhaps. Young girls do young girl things.

Mothers-teach them brutal honesty. No bridges left unscorched, but those deemed fruitful.

Fathers-guard your ramparts against the day one comes begging mi'lady's hand. Dissuade with prejudice.

Luckily, I had only one gamma obsessed with me. He was like 40-50 years older though and I was a teen and looked like one, which is so creepy now that I remember this. He tried to force himself into my building, but someone stopped him. He left me alone because he found another victim to obsess over.

I got an email a few years later from him that he wrote when drunk. He said something about being a virgin. His writing was off. He used noooo punctuation marks, at all, and long long parapgraphs. You think my comments are hard to read? You have no idea how he wrote. Oh, now that I remember, he wrote quite a few emails like this, but didn't take those seriously. I thought "he's crazy" and didn't think much else of him.

I should've gotten the police involved.

Green Mojave's avatar

You were lucky. The gamma nutcase that went after my daughter was 10 years older than she. It eventually did involve the police and work security in multiple jurisdictions, university police, her residence city PD, her work security, and our home PD. He even came to our home, while I was away for work. Talked to the wife to warn us about how our daughter was hanging around with the wrong people and he came to help. Psyco. Promptly upgraded video security, upgraded from 9mm to .45, with a 12 gauge bedside after she moved back home. Spent much more time on range.

Oh no. I see. Well, I am glad you reacted. My dad was not really present in my life at that time. My mom saw the messages and said he was off. She didn't do anything else, not even talk with him.

It's good you were there for your daughter. I wish I'd had a present father. I don't say this with hatre, but with nostalgia. It's good at least someone had their father like this.

> It’s neither safe nor healthy for a young woman to be “just friends”

It is always obvious from the outside that they aren't just friends. They are using each other but the girl hasn't realized how unstable the guy is.

Shoot your shot , if she says no then walk AND cast her into the tech abyss ie no IG , no FB , no social media and delete her #

I think the part that's overlooked in the Gamma's Milady Fantasies is the power dynamic. Yes, he puts the girl on a pedestal but he also wants to overpower her into fulfilling his wishes. A girl who is nice to him subverts this and he hates her for it.

Look at all the coercive games Neil Gaiman used on his victims. It was always women he held power over, made to do things against their will. It would have ruined it for him if they were willing participants. The coercion is part of the turn-on for gammas.

Ladies, you've got to be brutal from the outset. Enough contempt to trigger the gamma into avoiding you forever and anon. If you're kind you'll be on his radar for retribution and he *will* go as far as to harm or kill you.

Gammas love women who are nice to them.

Gammas end up with quite masculine women who dominate them. And they are generally quite happy with this dynamic.

So Gammas in positions of power are predators? Sounds about right

What a horrific situation; said prayers for the families. The guy in the pic is also a gamma loser, but he's a 30 year old freak named Jason Nichols. The Wisconsin gamma, Austin Taylor, was 17 at the time he attacked that poor girl, and was 19 at his sentencing in 2024.

Amazing resemblance in the booking photo, they could almost be brothers.

That guy has Ben Shapiro eyebrows. Something's obviously wrong.

I have only ever known one instance of a guy exiting the friendzone in my entire life and it was not accomplished by trying to exit the friendzone.

It's a sick game that some women play.

Validation from being the object of desire, while feeling the power of rejecting the person who "needs" you.

Meanwhile, the same woman will ironically simp themselves over some highly attractive Alpha.

It's the psychological merry go round of Western Culture

Good for this guy, his love was not meant for the outside world. Now he can fully embrace his true self with his new roommate named Luther Tyron Shaquille.

In reality, Ross Gellar would have used his access to Monica’s apartment to secretly rifle through Rachel’s underwear drawer. I never did understand why that relationship was such a cultural touchstone.

He came across as a wimp, the loser you send out to get more beer when running low or just tired of his being present.

Because, like Revenge of the Nerds, it was Jewish wish fulfillment. That's why they didn't want to let Monica and Chandler get together, but the audience demanded it.

In real life, Rachel marries an investment banker and Ross marries a squatty, angry Women's Studies professor.

I'm so glad you pointed that out, decades ago. The reality of real life contrasts with PedoWood fantasy so starkly, it could be baffling. Until until you remember Joss Whedon and Neil Gainan exist.

Then it all makes sense.

Drewie's avatar

That show was so dumb. Just like how Seinfeld wanted us to believe him and Constanza date top models weekly.

Karlpk52's avatar

Correction, Jerry dated cashiers that looked like super models.

So realistic on one hand, a wild fantasy on the others. But it is TV. Though very few TV sitcom characters, let alone real people, would bang the office cleaning lady on his desk.

Drewie's avatar

Hell no. Jerry would never date hot cashiers in real life.

Michael Maier's avatar

What if they were underage?

Niles-Daphne on Frazier was the worst. Daphne would never leave her wealthy Alpha lawyer fiancé for a foppish nerd who couldn’t get up the guts to approach her in ten years’ time.
