Compassion as women express it tends to be another form of attention seeking. I don't intend this to be harsh, but they rarely if ever weigh the consequences of not getting attention much less that they cant hit an unlike button when theyre done feeling validation. "Helping" feels good. Predators know this mechanism well. Possibly because it's similar to how their own fixations operate. Prisons are full of gammas.

Shock can sometimes work but rationalization is strong and wins over time. I notice that the recount doesn't discuss a male opinion backing up the mom's concerns.

About ten years ago I was working on a contract position at a homeless shelter where my employer provided services. The shelter provided services to families as well as singles, and had an on-site preschool for children of residents. One strict rule was no pedophiles/sex offenders of any sort were allowed at this shelter. One of the intakes I was dealing with set off every alarm bell. He was obviously lying about everything in his history and was beyond creepy in person, the kind of guy who makes your hair bristle. I accessed the system and looked him up, he was a convicted child rapist who had just been paroled. The young woman who was supposed to screen intakes had let it slide because she felt sorry for him.
