So, parallel fixation is one of the only ways for evolutionists to make evolution work because sequential fixation is too slow for the number of human generations? Has parallel fixation really been observed or is it just an epicycle that evolutionists concocted? What prevents them from just positing ever increasing parallel fixations to get around the human generation problem? Is that because human population size was smaller in the past and Bernoulli’s limit prevents infinite parallel fixations to get around that smaller population size?

This is great. I don’t fully understand Vox’s arguments and numbers but the evolution theory I have been presented with my entire life has never made sense to me. The number of human generations needed to fixate all of the needed mutations is far too many. Oh well, I guess they can just add a few zeros to the timeline.

Can we go back to giving people like SacredCowKilla swirlies?

Sacred cow killa shows that perhaps the eugenicists were right after all….

Scientific development is held back by the fixation rate of Gammas changing their mind.

We need more Alpha scientists.

Question: will Probability Zero be available as a printed book?

Vox Day's avatar

Yes, the test proof of the hardcover edition is being printed now. You may be able to purchase them as soon as Friday. Almost certainly by next Monday.

The attempt to bluff with word salad assumes you’re doing the same. The ignorance and midwit ceiling preclude seeing the difference. Creating the situation where you can narrate what they’ll do as they’re doing it, yet remaining somehow oblivious.

A social context filled with posturing ignorant losers trying to outlie each other is a sorathic abyss of anti-status. And the grandiose nickname that’s the precise opposite of the actual efficacy in the world becomes a synecdoche of zit’s entire existence.

He says he did "back of the envelope" math; did he actually show his work? I doubt it.

Gamma, in defeat.

Retreats to his lair and cries,

"Victory is mine."

I almost never see a gamma admit defeat and retreat.

He'll proclaim his technical victory in front of everyone, for all the world to see, multiple times, until the only the NPCs remaining have his same views.

Did vox just get hired as the OC for the lions?

All the Gamma commentaries put on example here over the months sound as if they could have been written by the same person. It's odd that gammas converge to a similar vernacular; infected by the same reddit mind virus. The other ssh types have more variance.

I've been wondering how many "Gamma" posters are bots. Dead Internet Theory.

Overturning a paradigm is probably the most interesting and exciting thing that happens in science. One would think that it should be in the Gamma's nature to be a part of it, since they take pride in considering themselves iconoclasts.

But here? crickets. Probably it's partly because the iconoclasting is done by the wrong iconoclast.

For people who like to go on about being "on the right side of history" they sure have horrible intuition when they are presented with such a case.

Gamma's can dish it out, but can't take it.

“I haven’t read the book”. Why on earth are you attempting to refute it then?

Masked Menace's avatar

Ah, there's the conundrum. I think it's due to a combination of arrogance, laziness, and the inability to keeps one's big mouth shut.

I did the same back of napkin math as our killa friend and 9 million years divided by 20 years per generation, then dividing the genetic gap by that number, I come up with 71ish fixations across the entire population, per human generation. Which of course doesn’t even scratch the surface but should obviously give anyone pause. Now, did he look at that math and go “yep, makes total sense to me”, or did he just not even take the 10 seconds to do the basic calculations? I’m guessing the latter, gammas gonna lie.
