Given the level of concentration and corruption in the defense industry, more decisiveness can be worse. It might lock in unaffordable contracts with ineffective manufacturers before the crisis starts to force real change.
I haven't recommend the military as an option to develop skills or get education money for young men for a while. I do know when I was in, something like 80% of women did not complete their service term. You did not see many women in non-office roles that stay past one term. Huge waste of taxpayers money. This means the promoted women get promoted more due to DEI, than capability and competition.
They started training women for submarines while I was in though.... One of the first women scouted was in my nuclear training class and I knew her personally. I asked buddies that stayed in about the internal rumors over how that actually turned out: it was all drama and inconvenience, especially in such a small space as a submarine. From what I understand it ended worse than it is on Aircraft Carriers. That particular girl was scouted before our on-the-job training, and I heard she was one of those book-only types who were good academically, but bad at application.
I knew Bill Toti when he served on Indianapolis (SSN697) and Buffalo (SSN715).
His reputation, later, as CO of Indianapolis, and in Major Command of Submarine Squadron 3, was excellent. I was elsewhere, then, but had friends still back in the Pacific AOR.
Solid guy. Very technical. Excellent leader. If anybody can unfuck this cluster, he is a good choice.
Not only does she need to go, but all of the people that she’s hired and surrounded herself with are also going to have to go. Women in those positions choose other women and low status men. People who are happy with the consensus.
If true, that's wild. I do not recall any flu shot being mandatory after Navy boot camp, because I didn't take it. I was in back when it was, "don't ask, don't tell."
I've been out of that bloated, corpulent and slow bureacracy called the US military for 22 years now. I can't imagine the decision-making has gotten any better than it was back then
It tia the DEi who need purging. Being a woman is no longer enough to save you. Removing the women is follows by purging the DEI: even in an existential war it takes about two years to remove the incompetence. The deep levels of globalist incompetence have ensured drone production is controlled by China.
The US military industrial complex is a giant graft machine designed to loot the treasury. Only occasionally does it deliver a weapon that actually works and even then, only a few because the costs are so high.
The Gulf states have reportedly ordered over 5,000 Patriot missiles to replace all of those used during the two months or thereabouts of the hot war against Iran. And at the moment, the US produces 650 a year. Gonna be a long wait.
Meanwhile, Russia is reportedly building 1200 drones a day of all types.

A queen bee was in charge of the drones??

REALITY is a bitch!
And just like that the navy is mandating the new mRNA flu shot. Female coded armed services cannot be fixed.

No.
The mRNA \/ is only approved for those over 50.
The standard flu (killed virus derived) vaccination is required for new recruits/OCS/accession programs.

The extra dagger in the back is that Iran’s drone program is based on technology President Obama delivered to them in 2011.
Iran’s drones even look like the RQ-170.
Making a drone is the easiest thing ever, what's harder is making the people making the drones stop using subcontractors to steal government cash.
There’s a fix for that, but our nation’s leadership doesn’t seem to be ready for it yet.
One can only hope. I'm in the drone business and we've gotten 2 more women with a gamma in tow for the last year. Please, let this be real.

If the US want to be relevant, it needs a drone force. The Navy won't be the seed of it because their orthodoxy is based on bigger ships.
It would make sense for the Air Force and the Marine Corps to be the seeds of it.
