I never wanted my children, until the day I met their mother.

Then, I never wanted anything more.

Each arrival was a wonder-"THERE you are! WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU!!" Their newborn eyes, transparent unto God, spoke sooth mere priests could never tell.

I truly did not know that such joy could be mortally possible, nor that such heartache could be humanly endured. Yet both were true, and I would not trade a moment of the joy to avoid the entirety of the ache.

Fatherhood taught me far more than I taught my children-it has been an honor beyond measure, and a revelation beyond Self, to have served their needs these last decades, now so swiftly gone.

If you are young, and vacillating, and she loves you sure-do not hesitate. No greater growth, no deeper love, no firmer affirmation of God's grace exists than in the boundless gift of fatherhood.

I've always interpreted commandment 5, honor your father and mother, as honor them with kids. It is the best gift you can give them and it can add perspective to what your parents went through in your upbringing. If you exclude boomers, it is the ultimate validation that they succeeded as parents, you were raised adequately, and that their genes are worth continuing into the next generation.

Happy Father's Day!

There was one thing I was told about having children.

"You don't know what tired actually is until you have kids."

The one thing I'll tell you; you don't know what love truly is until you become a father or mother.

Always worth it.

To fathers. To the biological fathers. And every gym or math teacher who did the father's work, when it wasn't his, when the biological one wouldn't.

There is no greater tradeoff.

Lol! Love it! My father used to call my mom, sister, and me his "Gimmie Birds." You say, "Gimmie, gimmie, gimmie." The twinkle and pride he had saying it said volumes🥰 The 173rd Airborne Infantryman in Vietnam took great pleasure in providing/protecting his family. We were so richly blessed to have him. I had the wisdom and blessings to marry a man who sacrificed so I could stay home with ours. Full-grown now. You Godly Men with Chests are a treasure. I treasure mine.

Happy Father's Day to all the Father's here. Thank you for being strong and for seeking the truth. Your families and your communities need you, no matter how much the father of lies tries to convince everyone otherwise.
