"Just do what your told" is advice many need and few follow.

I really pity them. It's unfortunate that there's a non insignificant amount of guys out there so narcissistic that they can't grasp the simple concept of "Do what the person who is paying ask for"

Still trying to wrap my head around arguing about the size of the Kindle cover. It is what it is, and it won't have the same specs as the print version anyway. Does he know there's a difference between px and ppi, and that cmyk is not the same as rgb?

What is so wrong about “the customer is always right”?

Oh. Gammas…..

Naive Gamma drifting through life, casually talking shit to the Dark Lord, having no idea who he's interacting with. You love to see it.

Gamma knows best.

Generous display from the Dark Lord, once more.

I suspect in your younger days, you would not have been so chill and dis-concerned about the belligerence of some gamma flaunting his expert vibes and implied superior status.

Well, crap. This explains why I had so much trouble with so many comic artists. Why didn't it occur to me to apply the SSH? None of them started out this presumtuous and arrogant, but 95% refused to draw what I was paying them to draw, insisting they knew better than me how to bring my story to life. For all you gamma comic artists out there: you're making it a very easy decision for creators to choose AI image generation when it advances to the point it can do stuff like duplicate background scenery from different angles.

When I did indie pub, I won the artist lotto insofar as working with professionals.

Artist 1 was Eve Venture, who stopped doing covers to move on to working with Marvel. Ok then. Spectacular book cover.

Artist 2 was a hard-core American survivalist with a unique American art style. Awesome book cover. Sadly, he got sick and passed away. I miss him a lot.

Artist 3 really got the sci-fi tone down. Spectacular book cover. But he went on to teaching. He would probably do another cover if I asked, but at this point, I had left the indie book industry. As an extrovert, running the show as a one-man band was sucking the life out of me, and then there is the question of whether an extrovert should be a novelist. But I digress.

Artist 4 jumped into my Christian web comic idea but bailed after 4 episodes over religious differences, which was a shame, really. Readers really liked his style. Was he a gamma? I dunno. I think he really needed a steady paycheck, which is sad, since I can now pay on a monthly basis.

Artist 5 resurrected my comic. Not a gamma. His technique improves each quarter. He's a bright young man with a wife and kids. Love's Jesus as much as I do. I win!

My experience is why I sympathize with Vox greatly. Look at all the trouble I ran into with artists who were not gammas.

Re. number 4, from the artist side of things I illustrated a book for a client last year. The project did go long, but he was really happy with how it all worked out, we put on the final touches ... then Charlie Kirk was shot that week, and my lack of indignation over the impending uprising of militant Christian Nationalists was apparently too much to bear. No idea if he's going to publish, or publish with the artwork we collaborated on, which is a shame as it was genuinely some of the best work I've ever done.

Frankly, the whole thing has turned me off taking on new clients.

AI is way more peppy, on time, and harder working than a gamma.

Give me the AI.

That’s an extraordinarily ungrateful person. You hire them and then they get mad at you for simply asking them to follow the parameters of what you hired them for. Wow.

Are you out of your mind! Their words have zero meaning since they are lies or delusion which neither is true. Such a pity that there are so many gammas in the world that easily get tricked into lies and false beliefs.

As a lone dog currently, there's an actual bit of selfish hatred in this teller's heart for those who have the opportunity to collaborate, work under or work with others and manage to waste everyone's time like this.

Still, that's the thing, there's any number of people who similarly don't like working on their own, but the moment you place them in a position when there's obligations to a party with higher priority, they muck it up by failing to adapt to the difference in circumstances.

Gratitude and humility can help keep one out of mischief.
