Boy, I could have used a female partner like that last summer. I was assigned to this one girl in an acting class, and I basically had to be her supervisor. She was out of control with her selfish behavior and was totally disruptive without any regard to me. I realized I had to be the adult of the two, so I set firm boundaries and this child stayed in them, more or less. So we were able to function and progress as a team, until the rehearsal performance which is when she was no longer under my supervision and ripped away the mask, fully exposing her true self. During rehearsal, she performed our scene perfectly. In front of the audience however, she sabotaged our performance for purely selfish, petty reasons. Then right after, when we were supposed to move a heavy table together, she refused to help. She just stood there and looked at me. Another female student was standing right next to her, saw what she did and came over and helped me move the table. A few days later when my partner and I met for rehearsal, I told her point blank that she was supposed to the table, not the other girl, and that what she did was very bad. She immediately fled in panic, without saying a word. An hour later, the teacher emailed me saying my partner had withdrawn from the class. She had stupidly self-destructed, ruining her reputation and giving me leverage in the process. Yeah, it felt good. But I still wish I had a hot sweet appreciative girl for a partner instead of the turkey I got stuck with.
