Growing-up with means in the suburbs of Minneapolis during the 80's is the ultimate Must Be Nice trap. If a man is capable of envy, this would be the most enviable thing I can imagine.
Having only known about Sigma Game for about a year or so, its interesting to see the experiences that shaped Vox. I wonder if his high IQ resulted in Sigma status, or if he would have been Sigma anyway, even with average IQ.
I never encountered any girls named Heather until I was in an ROTC class in college (for the activities of rappelling and sky diving). There were two Heathers in the class, both were nines.
If you will enjoy writing it - say as a walk down memory lane - my advice is to go for it. A case study may turn out to be useful - even if it is set among high school kids. If it isn't useful, you will still have had fun.
Hey Vox---any take on the Heather thing? As in, why is it the least good looking Heather back in the 1980s at high school/early college age was about 90th percentile? I'm at a bit of a loss to explain it.
All the Heathers I knew were middle middle class or upper middle class. Most of them had done ballet or dance as a significant activity. But those weren't rare activities back then, and plenty of MMC and UMC girls weren't all that. I do miss the days when even the Math Club had hot girls in it.
The three elite girls are all on the right. Your (1) was definitely not top tier, but she did blossom considerably our senior year and it was a good picture of her there. Our lockers were next to each other for six years...
Back in the day, they would have ranked, from the right: 6,5,4,3,2,1, although I would have personally ranked them 4,6,3,5,2,1. As it happens, 1 is the woman referenced in the previous post, whom I ran into the day after my wedding.

The girl farthest to the left looks like a blonde Winona Ryder.
4, 6, 1, 5, 2, 3.
High side with the majority of the commentariat here. Add my yes vote please to a continuing SSH analysis.
Yes please Vox, sounds great.

IN...this is edifying.

That’s literally why my Mom gave me my name.. she never met an unattractive Heather

No idea. But it was absolutely true. Heathers were reliably hot.
And, as you know, I married one.

Based on one semi-blurry photo - (1) the blonde first row lower left, (2) the brunette first row far right, then (3) the blonde second row right.

So "my" blonde cutie moves up two spots... nice.
Based on the photo I would definitely rank them 1,4,3,5,6,2.
Although you can't really tell much from an old photo.
I would be very interested in a case study. Thanks for giving us the offer!
“I should also point that none of the young men had mullets, those are just shadows left from the old black-and-white picture.”
How unfortunate. As a fellow late 50s bald man, I have a fond recollection of the glorious day of the mullet.
Wow ! people look so mature.
Very interested
